Spent the day at paragon on the jeep 101/201 thing and there were a bunch of KJ's there. They did OK on the 101 course which is no worse than my driveway after a bad winter before we clean up the big branches
. When heading over to the recovery area for the 201 part they had some problems getting around, mostly had to do with getting over and around rocks, those honkin big lower arms are for sure a problem.
Later when we were leaving one pulled up next to me and I was curious if that bank of lights worked or were just for looks, they work...
However he had overheating problems and I got my first real close look at the engine compartment. First, no mechanical fan, just a big electric under that fan shroud and the real shocker was they have the old 'closed' cooling system. Does jeep never learn, the tank is plastic and they mounted it on the firewall but at least it looks like it uses a standard pressure cap, even ford uses a steel can for the tank even now in their cars and trucks. It looks like a real PIA to work on too, which was my first impression when I looked at the sport with the V6 when it first came out so that was just reinforced. Well, gotta go put some sunburn stuff on, got a good one in the open TJ, just glad I did not get my annual crew cut on friday like I planned or I'd be one really sore puppy... :flame:
