NON XJ - RHD TJ !

So I am trying to help my Best mans Ma-inlaw fix her work rig .She has a 1998 Tj sport Mail Jeep it has a bad thing in the steering that looks like a Idler arm but has this funny 6" tall ram looking thing were the Idler arm mounts to and its shot .The steering is bad it has no feeling and I have to turn about 2/3rds of the wheel before it responds :scared: Scary stuff driving on the wrong side of the rig .So if anyone had any Experience with RHD Wranglers please help me help a old lady .

PS: I once drove a RHD Volkswagen. I agree that it's scary.

i dont have experience with RHD Wranglers, but i do know of a better place you should have put this, cause it is totally in the wrong place.

So this is it

So I hreased the hell out of it after I took pic's and it got kinda sorta better but not really .It feels like it has bearings and they are bad the jeep was converted to RHD and there is no sticker saying who did it or castings on the brace or worn out thing ,Its from Canada the door sticker said also the Tierod .Im going to pull it apart and see if there is numbers on the bearings because this thing drives like poo.

Yes, that has to be a convert. Ive worked on factory ones at the dealer, and NONE of them have that thing! I have no idea where you would start to find a replacement for that. Good luck.

Didn't the ones built as RHD have the diff on the passenger side as well as the frame side track bar mount?

track bar mount is on the passenger side, the diff is not for RHD. same axle, just different brackets. and one FUNKY shaped track bar.
