NJ Pine Barrens

Watch the mudholes, some of them will swallow a Jeep. Also, the sand will eat up your brakes and pinion seals. Just make sure to clean up your rig after wheeling there. The scenery is nice, but not worth more than a 2 hour ride IMHO. Also be sure to eat at the Picalilli Inn on Rt 206 between Tabernacle and Atsion.

the Pic-A-Lilli is the spot to eat thats for sure and it's in Shamong Township.
i wouldn't blindly go into the Pine Barrens with out somebody who knows were their going.it's easy to get turned around and get lost.the fact that the wrong mud hole will swallow a jeep.if you go down the wrong trail it can lead to large fines.i lived and wheeled Wharton state park for many years.the state park has been abused a good bit over the last few years and the rangers are getting tired of it.Wharton technically it's not legal wheeling .it is a park with many dirt roads that crisscross over New Jersey.if you go down a dirt road and come to a stream or a huge mud pit you are supposed to turn around and go back not go thru it.

and just to let you know what you can be in for
