I am doing a job for a relative so they can save some cash. they have a 97 Chevy Lumina that needs a lower intake manifold gasket, i know this is very common and is a PITA. What i'm hoping some of you may be able to help me with is finding me a writeup or a how to somewhere. i have searched and came up with how common this is but i havent been able to find a detailed write up.

if some of you have a connection to aldata or something there abouts that can get me some info on exactly what needs to be done to do this correctly i'd appreciate it

TIA

that whole site is dedicated to the 2.8/3.1/3.4 60 deg. GM motor. I'm sure they can help.

haha i know i know, but this is a very technical site and i figured someone here would have an idea. thats why i'm a big fan of the naxja! a whole community of knowledge.

thanks for the link, i think i'll be able to find some good info there, much appreciated

yeah, i work at a gm shop. its pretty straight forward. just dont be afraid to use plenty of rtv. and go to a dealership and get there gaskets. i think it'll be around $150. one of the main reasons those fail it because gm didn't know the dex-cool would eat the old style gasket. now they're updated materials.
