Hi all -
I have a '97 XJ Sport, and I have two newbie questions:
1. I have about 134k mi. and I think the shocks are original ... I don't see any bounce over bumps but do see quite a bit of dive on a hard stop. I'm not sure what is "normal", so would this indicate that I need to replace the shocks?
2. I recently gave a buddy a jump, and a day later, the CEL came no. Codes didn't make sense ... 12 and 45. Well, 12 made sense as I disconnected the battery to see if the codes would reoccur. But 45 doesn't show up in the code lists I found (FSM from http://www.greatlakesxj.com/tech.html and CEL list from http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoECUcodes.htm) ... o2 or tranny ...
Here's the weird part. I noticed that the average fuel milage from the computer went UP from about 16.5 to 18.2 ... that seemed to point to the o2 sensor, but NOW the light has gone out, and mpg is still up around 18.
Maybe I should just forget it and be happy!
Any help or logical explanations are appreciated!
Cheers -- Greg
