Newb axle changing question

There is a guy locally selling a High pinion Dana 44, and a Ford 9" 31 spline rear end out of a 79 Ford. What would need to be done to get those to fit in my 99 XJ? Are the widths even close?

I guess I should have specified I have a 99 XJ, Dana 30 front, and 8.25 29 spline rear
