New here - met someone from here this past weekend

OK, so we just had our Jeep Jamboree in Kingston, Nova Scotia over the last weekend.

I bumped into (figuratively) a guy who's a member here and thought I'd give a second look. I've lurked for a while, but I'm thinking of joining.

Since I'm in NS, I'm assuiming I'd be in the NAC, but you all can tell me that.

I did notice, though, that there is no "state" I can select on the reg application for my province. I saw Ontario in there, but no Nova Scotia...

Does this mean I'd be the first one from my area to join you guys? LOL

Anyway, I'm going to poke around the site a bit more.

Welcome.

Yes, at least for now you would belong in the North Atlantic Chapter. Back when the chapter was formed, we actually had a couple or three people from Nova Scotia who visited the site a few times. We debated whether to call our chapter the "Northeast" chapter, but a couple of us wanted to be inclusive and we pushed hard for "North Atlantic" in order the include the Maritime Provinces. The hope was to give you lads and lassies a chapter until you gathered enough members to spin off and form a separate Maritime Chapter.

Naturally, after we went through all that, all the people from NS disappeared.

We held a small event in mid-Maine last autumn (near Bar Harbor, convenient for the ferry) and hope to do another one this year. It would be great if some of you could make it over. Stay tuned later in the summer for details.

I'll have to read the charter on the Chapter info - how many are needed, rules, etc.

I know we have a few XJ's in the Nova Scotia Jeep Club, so it'd be up to them if they were interested enough in formalizing as a sperate group I guess.

Looking forward to chatting with others here.
