hey guys, im new to the board. :)

my name's nick reuter, im from southeastern virginia down by newport news. i have a 93 ZJ and just picked up my second jeep, an 87 XJ. the ZJ is a daily driver, pretty much stock. i was gonna build her up but id like to have one stock daily driver, you know?

i also have a 95 Z28 that im in the middle of building. she's pretty much a track car, got a real bad cam in her and it wouldnt take too kindly to me parading her around town all the time. im in the middle of finishing installing my new heads, should be done within a week or so. im takin my time.

i picked up the XJ for an astounding $120 :D

it needs a new motor. the motor has bout zero compression, but it has a brand new clutch and locally rebuilt transmission. also includes a viper alarm system and the interior is niiiiice. it's a 5 speed, stock. im plannin on having it as just somethin to play on trails with and take it surfing down in NC. i looked into a budget 4" lift on another website using some dakota stuff, seems pretty interesting.

im real new to jeeps and am really hoping to learn a lot. thankfully i got another jeep so i can tear her down and take my time with it so i can learn as much as possible. but any references yall can give me to help learn about both XJs and just off-roading in general would really help. i know my way around a street/strip car but dang i dont know too much bout these 4x4s!

see yall around

hey dude :)

i post on mpjai occasionally (also as reuter), but i dont really know anyone off there. im kinda waitin for yalls next meet & greet to come meet some people. like i said im new to the whole jeep thing you know :D

youre in norfolk huh? i just finished my registration stuff for ODU in the spring so i'll be out that way later this year.

thanks for offering the help, i'm sure i'll need plenty! i'm really new to suspension stuff. i'm pretty good with motors in general, but i really never have worked on suspension before so im definitely learnin! your jeeps are sick man. cant wait to start moddin mine, already lookin for a new motor then its off to the lifting and tires

see ya round!~

Thats what I thought I knew your name looked familiar...let me know what you are wanting to do, I can help out... I have a garage but I cant fit my dam XJ in to it with out tearing the garage door out, but I use the shop on base to do a lot.. I can alway get you on base to do work on the Xj.. Currently Im in Vegas but I will be home later this week... I have a lot of knowledge of the XJ/MJ and have a lot of fab tools to build stuff, Check out in the modified section for Ultimate Jeep project for my Ideas on my next build

If your talking to me its accualy a dark purple XJ... If you want more pics you will have to wait until I get back from Vegas to post pics..

any of yall ever done a motor swap out of an xj? :D

my motor's trash, found another out of a 96 YJ (also 2.5L) and was wantin to swap it in. any problems with that? ive never yanked the motor out of a jeep before, or any truck / 4wd for that matter.

I will get on that when I get back
