Hey all, my name is Justin and I'm planning a trip out to Michigan around the end of June early July. I'm going to be in the Grand Rapids and Silver Lake area

I've been looking around and either I'm not looking in the right place or I'm just not finding what I'm looking for. I'm sittin on 33's, locked front and rear, 5.5" lift, gears, etc...I"m looking for trails a little on the harder side (7-9), and trying to stay out of the sand and deep mud.

Any help pointing me in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Justin

Hey Justin, Silver Lake is not a trail system and the most difficult thing you'll find there is keeping your eyes off the bikini's. It's fun for about the first 2 hours.

Rocks and Valleys, which is located in central MI is where you'll finds some trails, it's not a 'hard core' off road park but I go there often and it's alot of fun.

Twisted Trails ORP is located in northwest lower MI, it has a series of trails that aren't all that fun, nice ride through the woods tho.

Michigan law states that if a trail is NOT marked open, then it's closed. Do not get caught on snowmobile trails because the State of MI loves snowmobiles more cuz they make more money from them.

You are allowed to drive on any "2 track" within the land owned by the state, however you need plates and regestration. A simple rule to go by is, if you're grandmas 2wd station wagon can make it down the track, then you can be on it with out problems.

Do NOT get caught off the 2 track climbing hills, the DNR (dept of nat resources) will hit you with a ticket.

You will need an ORV permit to be on the dunes, however that ORV will do you no good on any of the 2 tracks.

Hit me up if you have other questions.

there is also an ORV park called bundy hill located a little south of jackson. videos and pictures leads me to beleive its just a huge gravel pit.

i live in lake city when not at school at central michigan. a buddy and i do a lot of 2 tracking when we are bored but its really nothing to write home about.
