New Gears Questions

I just had a shop install 4.56's for me, (at the same time, I had them install a Lock Right in the front, a No-Slip in the rear, and a Advanced Adapters SYE and TW driveshaft) anyway, I've heard people talking about "breaking in" gears, but I'm not entirely sure what they're talking about. Is there anything specific that I need to do with new gears? Second, they seem to make a whining/howling noise when I let off the gas, it's not super loud, but it's noticeable as opposed to when I'm giving it gas. Any opinions? The gears are Superior brand, if it makes a difference.

You dont want to get them to hot for the first 200-500 miles.Start off with some short trips(about 15-25 miles)on level ground so you dont "load" the gears.I like stop and go traffic because you work both sides of the gears.Feel the diffs often so they dont get to hot.As for the noise that could be alot of different things.

Howling when decelerating means they didn't set the gears right. Take it back ASAP, before the teeth get work-hardened in an incorrect pattern.

Well, the whining/ howling noise stopped. It only did it for about the first 10 miles or so, driving around today it didn't do it. Does that mean that they are okay or that they're already screwed? Second, I thought I read something a while back about how you should change your diff fluid X number of miles after a gear change, yes, no maybe?
