Hey everybody i dont post here often just do a lot of surfing around. And for the last year my NP231 grinds and binds while in 4wd hi or low. 2wd she runs perfectley. I thought maybe it was possibly the front axle u joints or wheel bearing or hubs. Replaced them recently and the grinding and binding is still there. so that leaves me looking at the t-case. I do have a 4 inch lift, but this noise began before the lift. Im thinking is the linkage possibly not fully engaging? if thats the case how would i go about checking that? i recently changed the fluid, it was kind of dirty, but luckily no metal shavings. i just did the front dif fluid, and checked the dif out and it looks perfect. what would u guys start to look at to check.

ASlo i have an opourtunity to get a Np231 from a buddy with a 02 wrangler, 4.0 auto tranny. will this bolt right in to my auto tranny on my 89? Im thinking the elctronic speedo and my mechanical one will have an issue?

thanks for any insight you guys can give me
