Anyone help with one of these? - mines burned out on part controlling the Injectors

Codes found on/in the EC unit:
On the Box: Bendix (8825) EF8953005406 Made in France S101140202B
On one of the circuit board chips: FENIX2 B01060
On the circuit board itself: 140x02 1673
Cars Vin #/details: 1JCMR782XJT248471 4l Auto LHD 242 CID

Also could use a new Injector harness

Q: Does Renix = Bendix?

Ian

I have an ECU that was used by a dealership as a testing device. It will work fine in a 88 (Most of those are quite similar and will work - stick or automatic) I sold a t/case to somebody in Capetown several years ago - small world, huh?

Ian -
I'm trying to assemble a "working" RENIX setup on my workbench for some mod engineering - how much would it cost to ship that burne-out ECU back to me in no hurry? Do you still have my address (and which one is it?)

The burned-out injector drivers are no problem for my purposes, since I won't be pushing injectors anyhow...

Oh - RENIX = Bendix (under contract to Renault.)

Yup - Bendix is one of the companies I will always specify for brake friction (the other is Raybestos) and they really make their money in heavy vehicle parts.

During "Jeep, the AMC Years" Bendix was granted a contact by Renault to manufacture all their electronic controls - thus RENIX. It was all made by Bendix, and they were still their own company, but it was just a big contract thing.

Historical Note - the RENIX patents have been tracked down to a company in Elkhart, IN called ACTIA Corp - with whom I have been trying to open a line of communication in order to get more detailed RENIX tech info. Anyone out there in the area?

Ahhhh.... this sais a lot, always though that the stuff coming outta that parta world was dodgy, but slightly better than the Brits do :)
Ok only kidding.

Thanks for the info - you can have the ECU, ill check up on your address and then send you mail direct. Shipping probably only get the unit to u by Earky/Mid Jan.
In meantime ill follow on the one offered in this thread

"Earky?" Did you mean "early?" Don't feel bad - it's taken me 22 years to learn to type 40wpm without mistakes, it takes a while for some of us hamhanded mechanic types (my wife hits 140 without working at it - I'm jealous!)

No hurry on the shipping - this has been a "work in progress" for a while now. Just ping me and confirm my addy before you ship - I don't remember where I was when I sent you that CD (I'm still in San Jose, I've just moved - again!)
