go to school, get some training with auto classes. or you could join the military...

Most auto shops will not be hiring around this time of year. The time to start apping is after the new year. This is the slow time of year for the auto repair bizz.

I hope you fill out your job applications with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. ;)

Be all that you can be...because they need you, in the Army (Navy, Air Force, and if you're a good man Marines)

You could've applied for my spot at monument car parts if you didn't live so far away when i leave after this month. Pay sucks though, but the discount is kick ass.

Dude, that is painful to read. Try using Firfox as your browser, it will underline all the misspelled words for you.

You know, it's just common curtesy to others if you put some effort in your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This is especially important if you want people to take you seriously.
Slow down, type slower, think about what you are trying to convey.
Thanks.

What about getting a job at Home Depot. They pay better than Rite Aid. It's still retail and it's not with cars but atleast it's better than Rite Aid

I herad taht you can mix up the lertts in the millde of msot wrods and it will raed perdy good. :p

Not sure if ya would enjoy doing something like this:

"In-N-Out has over 7,000 employees with a starting wage of $8 an hour. Yes, that is correct; they pay their burger flippers, potato fryers, table wipers, and floor sweepers $8 an hour. This includes paid vacations, free meals and a 401K plan, plus full-time employees receive medical benefits. The average In-N-Out store manager earns over $80,000 a year. Many of In-N-Out's store managers started as hourly employees and worked their way up through the ranks. In 1984 In-N-Out opened the In-N-Out University, to teach new managers the In-N-Out philosophy." -From their web sight.

Switch careers and work on aircraft like I did 25 years ago. I'm working at Beale and live in Rocklin (1 hour drive). The Global Hawk is ramping up to replace the old U-2 and there will be plenty of aircraft maintenance jobs up there.

I found a petty good gig a couple month's ago, plenty of room for entry level folks or ASE cert tech's. Well know company thru out the US. Pm me if you want to know more.

Here's something to think about.

There are a lot of old men like me who read these forums. Old guys like me own the kinds of businesses that are fun to work at or we are good friends with the guys that own them. You really never know where your next break is going to come from. The old saying goes, "you only have one chance to make a first impression."

I've had quite a few good breaks through forums like this. I have friends who now own businesses because of opportunities that have come their way through forums like this. So, in my experience it makes good sense to always take the time to present myself well, regardless of the venue.

It seems to me that this is even more true when I am openly asking for recommendations for employment.

Then again, I'm old so I've forgotten how important it is to be cool and fast.

well thanks for the tips and advice and Smittie i definatley know what you mean but its not like im trying to insult people with the way i type or anything its just when u have been talking to friends and stuff on online messengers like msn ever since u were in 4th grade and you would type things like "u" instead of "you or "r" instead of "are" and never really watching for punctuation or spelling. On top of the fact that all kids do this when they text message. its just a habbit, but for some reason when i type essays and things like that my brain clicks to "school mode" lol and I type great. i know thats no real excuse but think about 9 years of that type of communication and its ingraved in u. sorry if i insulted anyone. wasnt my intentions and i didnt mean to. by the way to recap on the spelling thing. i know a lot of people who have problems with that and its something they cant really help and im definatley one of them ive never been great so again please dont nick-pick
