Mystery Power Steering cap?

We've been having an issue with the power steering cap on the race car disappearing. At first we thought somebody was simply forgetting to replace it after checking the fluid. But this has happened three times now, and I'm 100% certain that it's coming off during racing. Has anybody ever heard of anyhting like this?

FWIW, a Red Bull can is exactly the correct diameter to make a replacement cap, but it's not totally leak proof. The bottom of a Red Bull can, a latex glove as a gasket and a hose clamp has worked for the last couple races.

It's all that NOS man........ I have never had one come off unless the rubber under the cap wasn't there it might vibrate off?

It might stay tight if you run the track the opposite way it might tighten up instead of loosening. Sorry no help there either.

The caps have a vent in them so that might be clogged and when you build pressure it pops it off

Do you have any experience with safety wire? That is a solution for keeping the cap in place.

My black XJ lost like 10 of those things on the first power steering pump. After I replaced the pump, it never happened again.

...and funny, I used a redbull can a couple of times too.

I think we're going to do a new pump and a cooler at the same time, should fix the issue.
