Did you miss the part where he cut the center section but did not mention if he welded it back? In the pictures I see no welds. I cut my center section but both sides are tied together with the bumper. I don't think as it sits it could take any side loading. They need to be tied together so they will not separate.

well from the pics, we know that they are still connected at the top of the rail and I think we can assume the bottom as well.

I only cut a slot for the 1/4 plate to pass through, the top and bottom are still intact.

With a strap connected to the driver side, running 90* over the passenger side mount, strap in a horizontal position, passenger wheels blocked into a curb; both driver wheels off the ground, It deflects about 1/4" and springs back when released.

So basically with a dead sideways pull, I can overturn the truck without it bending beyond a reasonable amount. It will be fine for a little while.

On a side note I drove it today. No brake lines or shocks but it moves in 4low
