MOPAR Perfomance Chrankshaft

Hello,

I recently acquired a performance chrankshaft set for my XJ. After rebuilding my 2.5L engine with the new crankshaft and new tappets included the rig just would not start. I can crank and the engine just doesn't catch.
All the sensors are working and there is oil pressure.

Did anyone face the similiar problem? If so, how can I solve it?

Cheers,
Lee

Um, you didn't get a 2.2/2.5 Chrysler cranck shaft did you? I know they used to sell them, but thought they were disco'd. The Chrysler 2.2/2.5 had nothing in common other than displacment with the Jeep Powertech/Dodge Magnum 2.5, but I don't know if they'll even interchange.

My only other thought is that you may mean Camshaft, and is it timed right?

Yup that's the one. I guess in this part of the world they call it crankshaft...

To be exact.. Mopar Performance Parts Camshaft for 2.5L 4-Cylinder. Yeah, they were discontinued, prob got one of the last set.

Followed the instructions provided. We thought the timing was the prob. and adjusted but still she reluctant to start. If you dun mind, could you provide some input on this. We may be doing it wrong.

Cheers

Either the cam timing is off or the distributor indexing is off. Check the latter first. It could be off by 180* so the spark is arriving at the end of the exhaust stroke instead of the compression stroke.
