MJ Comanche Bed and tailgate - Garden Grove

I have the bed and tailgate from my 92 short bed Comanche MJ. Both are in good condition. Not perfect but really good for a 19 year old truck.

The taillights do not come with it but the wiring for them does. Factory flares are still installed. - Asking $500 obo for the bed and tailgate. The bed liner goes with it but is melted and warped at the front of it.

Taillights have already been sold.

I am parting the whole truck out. Cab went up in flames back in June. Didn't hurt the bed at all. Doors are trash. This truck was completely built up. The only parts stock was the body, cab back. Front end was converted to late model Cherokee with fiberglass fenders. Ignore the junk in the bed in the pics, the truck has become a storage unit while it sits in my garage. All that will be gone today.

The truck has always been in California, so the Sheet metal is in great condition with nothing more than a tiny bit of surface rust where there are some scratches.

If I only had a way to get it :( I'd drag my ass over a mile of broken glass to get one in this kind of shape, they are all rot-boxes out here.
 
idk, 500 bucks? granted they are somewhat hard to come by, but it does look like it has its fair share of dings and such. to me 500 seems pretty darn steep. if you wait you can find one for 125 in a junk yard on a non half price day. just my thoughts.

My Cousin's & Friends in NJ would agree with You. They call looking for cross members and other frame pieces.
 
The $500 is a starting point. It's in really good shape. Yea it does have some small dings and scratches, but over all it's really good. Oh and just FYI, the Pick-yer-part may have the bed for $125, but they will charge you more for the flares, taillight wiring, the tailgate, then the tailgate handle, then each tailgate hinge, yada yada yada. I almost bought one from them a year ago for my Dad's MJ and they broke each and every unboltable part down and charged separately for them. I left and didn't buy it. It was ridiculous.

Anyhow, I can ship this thing too if someone is willing to pay for it. Lower 48 only through my work's freight vendors. Would ship on an 8 foot pallet. PM or email me your address and I can get a quote for you. gogetemturbo at gmail.com

He's not lieing about this! $500 is a god price, Pick-A-part will nickle and dime you to death on thing like this. I just we there to get some backing plates for a disc brake conversion. I didnt bother taking off any of the parking brake pads although one was missing...they wanted to charge me for them and the spring hardware, and the ABS sensor lines that I CUT. I had to sit there in front of them taking all that crap off so I wouldnt get charged for it. I was like really, who comes to pick a part to buy used brake pads?!?!

I saw the thread on this forum from another guy who has the same bed as I, but painted his silver to match the XJ, so sick ........

I am so tempted to do an MJ bed trailer! The last thing I need right now is another project though, haha. I would love to have one though. I though about building on into a hard sided pop up and a cool little expedition/camping trailer.
