Hi
Bought from dc Mopar NV-T350 PN:05103528EA 47123 manual transaxle lubricant which might be the unique lubricant for the NV T350 transaxle which calls for PN 04874465 MS-9417. I need to know if the Mopar oil PN: 05103528EA is a GL-3 rated lubricant?
Also, does anyone know what the Mopar replacement oil is for PN: 04897622AA MS-9684 because it seems to have been discontinued in South Africa (MS-9684 is GL-3 rated)?

Any help appreciated but I have googled a number of sites and have not found the specific questions stated above.

regards
amac

Not sure if your looking for an aftermarket replacement. Royale Purple makes on and I think Amsoil does too for the NV3550.

Hi 75SV1 user. Thanks for reply but I am not looking for an aftermarket replacement. I bought a couple of these cans from the dealer already [expensive!!!] (PN:05103528EA and states Mopar NV-T350 on bottle) but I am too scared to change the oil on the AX15 with them as I cannot find any information which states if this oil is GL-3 rated. My webb search has told me (a number of times) that I must use GL-3 rated due to yellow metal friendlyness. regards amac.

There is a Mopar 75W90 gear oil that states AX5/AX15 on the bottle that is definitely GL-3. I can get the part number for you when I get home...just bought 4 quarts of this liquid gold ($15 per quart) last week. It took some time for the parts guy to find it, but it does exist.

Thanks mike for the info but that is the oil I asked the dealer for initially and they state that they dont carry it and use the NV-T350 oil instead. Same dealer that sold me the wrong transfer case oil so that is why I am checking. Nice to know though that the oil is still out there and actually has not been discontinued but has stopped being imported. Still need to know if the NV-T350 oil is GL-3 rated (has the NV-350 got a synchro-mesh). regards amac

I do not know about the mopar part number. Redline makes a AX compatable lube called 'MT-90'. Prior to that I had used Mobil-1 but when I changed it back in 99 or so the first time I bought cases, at that time GL5 was not a factor and the mobil-1 was not rated GL5, when I checked as I had run out of Mobil, 3 jeeps with AX's in them, the new stuff is rated GL5 so I went with Redline.
As far as the transfer case goes, Mobil-1 ATF is good in them.

Thanks for the notes guys but aaagghh.. can anyone answer my original question? Putting it another way, has the NV T350 transaxle got a yellow metal synchro-mesh. Because if it has, then the oil specifically made/ordered via Mopar for the NV T350 transaxle will be yellow metal synchro-mesh friendly? regards amac

The N-T350 he is talking about is from a neon and other dc front drive CARS. As far as lube for NV3500 series, GM sells a synchromesh lube, made by castrol who also makes DC's lube for the AX trannies.
Looks like a GL4 spec so I'd say the transaxle has sintered bearings.

My diesel dodge truck as well as GM built manual trucks with the NV 4500 tranny require Castrol Syntorq, not syntec. From everything Ive been told and read its a GL4 oil. Reason being the syncros are destroyed by the zinc in any GL5 oil. Good luck finding it at any AP store. My local bulk oil distriubutor sells 16 gallon drums for $380 or so. DC and GM dealers sell the same thing rebottled for anywhere from $25 a quart at GM to $35 at my DC dealer. Also Standard transmission sells gallon bottles for $50 last I checked.
I also spoke with Redline and was told a 50/50 mix of MTL and one of their other tranny oils would do the job. At this point with all the tranny problems Ive had with my NV4500 and the fact it states clearly on the tranny that use of anything but the Castrol Syntorq will void any and all warranties be leary of anything else, specially Assoil, I mean amsoil.
