lp d30 to hp

I think my only option is to swap my lp d30 over to a hp d30 especially since I need new gears anyways. Only reason I am doing this is because my 2000 has some vibes when I put it in 4wd, but with me going from 5.5" lift to 7" it will just get worse and my pinon angels suck. So is swaping to a hp my only option? I am also thinking I may install WARN hubs on the new axle also, but I want to keep costs down for when I need stronger axles.

Also are the best non-disco years? Or should I just look for a 97- 99? I will just swap everything, but the ring gear into the new housing.

Also are all 4.0 87-99XJ hp d30s the same housings? I will just swap everything, but the ring gear into the new housing.
Did you get some quotes on a HP D44? Before you go through all the trouble you may find a D44 may only be like $500 more. If you did it yourself it may even be cheaper.

As far as the years, you want a later HP D30. The knuckles are different from 87-92.

I will just need to buy a housing and swap my stuff over. How would a hp d44 be only $500 more? Explain please? So far I'm looking at spend about $50 maybe.

I figure I could find an F-150 hp d44 and then find someone to cut it down and put my D30 brackets on the d44, but $500? I'd still be in the same boat, see I don't want to have to even put Warn hubs on, muchless alloy shafts and CTMs by then a custom high steer d60 is calling my name. I am happy w/ 35s, once I get tired of 35s, the 38s are going on along with new axles to hold them on.

Well you mentioned doing a warn kit ~ $700, I've seen D30 housings go from free to $500. So if you add it up, that's about $1200. Which is in the D44 range. If you were able to do the labor yourself then it would be even cheaper.

Obvisously if your getting a good deal on a HP D30 then there really is no comparison. I just thought I would throw that out for you to chew on.

Ohh thanks, I thought you might have known something I didn't. $500 for just the housing? Yikes, not around here, maybe $100, but it would have to be a 97-99 for me to pay $100.

Plus If I was doing the Warn hubs on the d30 I would also do it on a 44.

I have a HP housing sitting in my gargage in my way if you want it you can have it but I dont know where you are.
