Hey Guys and Gals.

My wife and I have had it with So Cal, and I am looking into relocating to San Antonio area of Texas.. I have not spent any time there just a couple of trips threw it in route to another dest.. If anyone has suggestions as to what neighborhoods to stay away from I would appreciate it.. I know your not looking forward to a pair of Californians as your new neighbors.. But this state sucks... Thanks in advance..

Scott.

Ah, another Californian. I've been to San Antonio quite a lot of times. Have an Uncle and his family there, so we visit a lot. I believe they are in Fossil Ridge, but I'm not completely sure. Its a nice area. I do like San Antonio as a whole though.

dont know much about san anton but being from the west coast also....this place is way better.....come north to wichita falls.....

your location says huntington beach....my family is from bell flower

you have kids? the best schools are on the northside generally but you kinda have to check to see which schools offer what vocations. they kinda split them up a couple years ago. as for as neighborhoods themselves well you just have to look around and see what you wanna spend and how much you wanna deal with home owner associations. some are pretty easy and some are overbearing nazi's. if your the snobish or snooty types your prolly gonna wanna live in alamo heights, olmas basin, terrill hills or the dominion. if your normal good natured people you can find good places all over the northside. stay away from the east side(crackhouse neighborhoods), west side(mexican gang ridden area but great food), or southside(same as westside but worse) unless you go outside 1604(1604 is a loop around the city) then the farther you get outside 1604 the better the neighborhoods get. the northside has it's bad spots but they are pretty obvious and are easy to stay away from.

if you need more info just lemme know. i've lived here for 30 years

Thanks for the info. Yeah we are looking just north of the loop in that area. Have a few places to check out. We are not the typical So Cal snobs, I am originally from Oregon.. I would like to stay away from HOA's if at possible, even looking for something with a acre or two. Thanks for all the info..
