Looking for an internal cage price

I'm looking into having a shop in my area build an internal cage for my XJ. They've never done an XJ cage before (yes i completely trust their work) so they aren't sure what to quote me for price. If anyone who has had a shop install a cage, or even builders, could PM me with a price it would be greatly appreciated. Also pics or a description would help as well.

Thanks

Yea, show them (or any custom shop) that $425 price and see what happens.

a.) They laugh at you so much you feel humilitated...or...
b.) they toss you out on your ass.

How close am I Brad ?

Ask me to match that price and you get all of the above.

And then some.

here is a write up on a cage install

and here is the price for that interior cage
http://www.dandcextreme.com/product_template.asp?pkID=126

its 425 for just the cage

That's by no means a finished cage... bad example. If you contact Damian, he'll also tell you that that doesn't include any extra triangulation or frame bracing.

There's a shop in the Denver area here that is building complete XJ cages (interior) for about $1500-$1700 installed. I'm not sure what they're advertising as "complete" but if it really is, then I don't think that's too unreasonable.

We don't sell cage "kits" so you can show me that price all day long :D
I WILL give you a price that is reasonable based on your needs.

XJ cages are much much harder to do right than say a YJ cage. And we get $600+ for a full one of those without seat tie-ins.

So I would say if anyone is willing to do the work for less than say... $900, they either have NO CLUE how much work it is. Or they are the nicest fab shop in the world.

-We are talking $300 + just in tube.
-To weld and paint the top of the cage you need to holesaw 4 holes in the floor to drop the cage through, (unless you want to hit your head on it all the time.)
- Uniframe mounts are also pretty tricky to make, and to weld.

Just an FYI when you get quoted a price on these things :)
