Hey guys,

I just found out my job is moving to Denver - in a week:helpme:. I'm on 33s with stock 3.55 gearing. I'd rather not drive the 800-900 miles with my Jeep in this condition. I've been planning to regear to 4.56s for quite some time, I have all the parts - the mater install kit, gears, and an ARB.

I asked for recommendations a while back for local installers. The guy recommended to me, James something, said he'd do it for a killer price. Now he's not returning my calls. I think he didn't want to mess with the ARB.

Anyways, If I need to get this done - FAST, do you guys have any recommendations?

Thanks so much!

The drive to Denver on 3.55's with 33's sucks. Ive done it! Going up the foothills you'll hit like 55 doing 3000 rpm. Regearing is the way to go!

Yeah, I won't be towing anything - I'm letting my GF with an exactly spec'ed stock cherokee do that.

I'll prolly be going up through OK and across instead of across and up. The elevation gains are alot more gradual on jeep that way.

More suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys!

DOOOOOOOD! fo sho look me up when you are rollin through the springs!
i could regear you if you were here....just throw a tranny cooler on it and roll! if you go through the pan handle of OK you dont see any significant gains in altitude till you hit monument...halfway between the springs and Denver

Call Chris at Jeeps Unlimited. He has a new shop in Haslet. He's actually regearing my TJ this weekend. Good prices and Great Customer Service.

You bet I will! I need someone to show me around the trails.

Yeah, I was thinking about grabbing a cooler and just doing it later.

That might be what I do.

If your looking for a four wheel drive group, look at Meetup.com. Search for four wheeling. The group my girl friend and I organize is called Denver 4-wheeling and camping. We are going to the Sand Dunes down by Alamosa at the end of April and Rampart Range west of Monument at the end of May. We just got back form Moab. More trips planned in the future. It's a fun group.
