Well I guess it's time to replace the original tires on my 97 Trans Am. The original tires are Goodyear Eagle gs-c 275/40zr17. I've been looking around and see tires from $144.00 a tire to over $300.00 a tire. That is quite the gap in pricing. I don't want crap tires, but I also do not want to break the bank either. A summer time tire is fine as I do not drive this car in winter. It has around 13,550 miles on it. I'm thinking something like these

BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 (Ultra High Performance Summer)

but don't know if these are good tires or not. The couple of reviews I can find say they are nice and sticky tires, handle very well and they are excellent in wet conditions.

So, let me know what you think about tires in this size, likes dislikes and any other feedback you may have.

Thanks
Ken

Yep. Those BFG g-force tires are great tires.

I had put KDW's on my GTO having aspirations of hitting some SCCA track time ......... and then I sold it. Loved those KDW's.

I run hankook Ventus V4es tires on my camaro. They run 140 a tire so i dont mind too much. wet traction is ok dry traction is pretty nice. its no BFG G force but it sticks in the corners pretty well and seams to be wearing well. i will admit i do like to take corners way way way too fast and ive only ever had the car get away from me once in some loose gravel. at about 300hp they launch decent too if thats your thing

Kdw ftw!! those tires are pure awesome. they do damn well on asphalt/concrete/gravel. not the longest amount of tread life. but don't burn up as soon as they touch the ground.either.

Thanks guys. All of these tires are real close in the comparisons I've found. Anybody know of a good place to get tires up north? I know we have guys that work at tire shops. I'd rather support a fellow NAXJA guy than just some random shop.
