Looking at a 2001 Cherokee

I found a good deal on a 2001 cherokee, only 60K miles on it.. To day the cat went on the wifes car and we are looking at getting rid of it. They already made us a trade offer on it so do not think they will drive it again...

Question will they bumpers on my 90 bolt up to the 01? Pretty sure they will but rear will need to extend the side to look good. Would swap the axle on the the 90 to the 01 and have most lift parts sitting around. Think I am moving up to a newer XJ and the 90 will be for sale once I have the parts I want off of it..

Let me know about the bumpers.

The front will. Rear bumpers on the '97 and newer bolt up differently than earlier years. IIRC, the unibody channel behind the bumper is molded differently and the rear bumper brackets are different, but mount very similar to the earlier ones.

On the rear bumper could an adapter plat be made or would it be more like cut the mounts off and weld new ones on?

Re: Looking a 2001 Cherokee

rear bumpers will bolt up fine (i am running the custom4x4fabrications bumper that was on my 92 on my 00). however, the hatch on the 97+ is wider and the bumper may interfere with the hatch opening. i had to modify the bumper so the hatch would open.

the mounting locations are exactly the same

Randy, exactly what did you have to modify? That is the exact same bumper I have. Did you do anything with with rear rockers?
