Definately an Eaton. I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it. They are only 19spl axles, but they're big. I like them for the cool factor, but parts aren't the easiest thing to find for them.

Not sure if I'm going to use that axle yet or not. Got part of the truck stripped yesterday and will have the axles free and clr by the weekend...then I'll get a chance to tear into them and see what all I got...

I'm told eatons have 19 spline 1.55 shafts and are poss considered stronger than a 14bolt...it looks like it was holding up well to the 40 some inch ag tires...

44x18x16 ground hawgs and 40 some inch ag tires for sale!

And you are posting pics of a 4-letter 'F' word on an XJ forum ... why? My feeble mind fails to grasp the significance of this non-event.

I think many of the parts for a 14 bolt are interchangeable in the Eatons. A friend of mine has one in his CJ and it is huge.

pulled the shafts out of it tonight, after i got them big ag tires off..... they are 18 or 19 spline, 1.5 inch diameter, and doesn't hardly neck down at all, ...and it is definately a neat axle, with a pull out center section, a third pinion support bearing, and that locker or whatever it is...i'm running it....especially since oneknut is interested in it, that definately means i've got to run it....

got the mounts cut off the axle, and the axles moved under the jeep...

try to figure out the suspension...

Lincoln locked requires welding, no? Wouldn't this be more of a Crack-Lok?

its welded...

Oh, I thought the emphasis of the last pic was on the cracked bearing retainer.

actually its not cracked, it just looks that way in the pic....

the locker itself is what's welded....

Nice score...now just get rid of those cinder blocks so you'll still be around to finish the job :twak:

$30 at Checker Auto for a pair of 24" tall 6-ton stands...probably a good 8" taller than what you have there.

Yeah 'Gyver ... if you're ever gonna use the cement blocks, at least turn them up so they wont collapse and put a 2x12 on top of them (oak preferably). You have them laying on their side ... they are not very strong like that.

Les

not that there's anything i can do about it now...i did actually think about putting them on there sides with a piece of wood over them...after i set it up....the load is split over two cinder blocks....

those are 6 ton harbor freight jack stands...
