Longer e-brake cable source for D44's?

I swapped in a D44 rear from an XJ. The stock e-brake cables don't allow much flex for my 5" lift.

With my D35 I used passenger side cables from a Wrangler, but they won't work with the larger D44 brakes.

Where do I get longer e-brake cables that will work with the D44 brakes?

Hanson front bumper, MileMarker 10,500 Hydraulic winch, C4X4 rear bumper and tire carrier, XJ Armor rocker skids, ... Rubicon body work.

Why don't they work? Is the D44 an XJ D44 or an MJ D44 ... or from some other source?

(edit) - I used the YJ Passenger side cables w/ my D44 swap. Dunno what's up with yours unless ya got the shorter YJ cables - they did change them somewhere along the line (mentioned in the first link):

I have the jam nuts, union coupler & allthread for $10 shipped if anyone can't find it locally when they install the YJ cables.

Maybe some info here as well under 'Tech' / brakes :

Things that make you go, "Hmmmm"

Well you got me. I'll have to pull the drums apart and see what's up.

It's been awhile since I swapped in the D44. but I pulled it off of another XJ.

When I went to connect the ebrake cables inside the drum the ends of the cables on the 44 were different than the ones I had been using on the D35. If I remember right the ends were larger on the 44 and the 35 ends just slid through. I was in a hurry to get it back on the road so I just used the stock cables.

The 44 does have the larger drum brakes.

I'm confused??
I just removed the 8.25 from my '01 and left the ebrake cables in place on the XJ. I bolted the Dana 44 up, and the cables fit fine.
Did I miss something?
