Anyone have any first hand experience with these come-alongs on steroids?...

They're claiming a drag/pull rating of 12K lbs!

I'm looking for something light weight to keep in my f-350/cabover camper as a last ditch effort for self recovery. Don't want a standard winch since they weigh a ton (the above only weighs 26lbs) and I'm already pushing the GVWR with the camper and gear. Plus it would rarely get used.

Just realized this probably should've been posted in the tools forum. Mods, please move if needed.

Yea, I may go that route since I already have one. Downside is that they only have a pull range of 3' then you have to block wheels, reset the jack...rinse, repeat. Plus they only have a rating of 7K lbs or so. Better than nothing I guess if you're stuck in the mud or something like that.

If you have a proper hilift winch setup that is not true. You continuously move up the same length of chain as in this video.

Good to know, I'll have to get that leap frog set up. But that whole process looks like a PITA :)

Ive done it before to get a vehicle on a trailer. Took less than ten minutes to set up. About half an hour to move the truck 30ft and onto the trailer. Not bad.
