Liftgate lock stuck.

The liftgate lock will not lock or unlock when using the electric clicker - or the control on the door. When I use a key to lock or unlock it, it feels and sounds like it's grinding on something.
I'm going to take it apart this afternoon to see what's wrong with it, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this.

A friend with a 98 had a similar problem. Linkage going from the actuator to the lock had broken. Electric open/close did not work, but it could be forced with a key. I would assume you will easily be able to tell when you pop open the panel.
