Fox News is America's Al-Jazerra. Fair and bias my butt.

I just spent the weekend with some old shipmates, a RADM, a CDR, an O3 and an MCPO. We were at a Legion Hall in AZ. These are the same guys who say CNN is Communist New Network, Liberal Media blah, blah, blah but take Fox News ( a media outlet) at face value. There was a poll taken by CNN that showed ~86% wanted the Christmas Bomber tried as an enemy combatant. They were telling me (even though I agree with that 86%) that is the way it should be...until I pointed out their hypocracy because it was a CNN poll and therefore based on all their rantsing & raving over the last 10+ years couldn't be right.

Want to know what is happening in the world besides the Olympics? which celeb entered rehab? Then go to BBC-Hong Kong or to an Aussie webpaper. No holding punches there, no sugar coating for the masses.
 
I did not say it to defend fox news. I say that because It is my experience that the person who makes that comment gets all of their news from one source as well. It was not a comment on validity.

Old_Man hit it with the kool aid comment.

Me, I get all my news from NAXJA and the political section

How can this be, you ask? The American people have grown tired of being lied to by the State-controlled media, is my theory.

I don't subscribe to the Fox News Channel....... I check them online occasionally, but prefer to get my news from multiple sources, like http://www.drudgereport.com/

Seems like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC have heard the call and have fallen in line--if they could only get rid of Fox the Unicorns will return, sunshine will fall upon our faces, and peace and harmony will reign under the enlightened guidance of the Progressive Liberal Socialists.

Exactly my point. Unfortunately most folks just take the spoon fed stuff. I prefer sources from our allies, the Brits and the Aussies, close enough to be friends but distant enough to allow for them to be critical of our policies. Great article on Shark attacks increasing along our gulf coast in an Aussie paper. .
