Late hours problems

[FONT=&quot]I live on the West Coast (PST) and visit often in the late evenings.
Every night, around midnight, the forum seems to either stop working or it becomes so slow to respond that it is not usable.
I would think there would be few members on the site at that hour and that it should response quickly, due to so little bandwidth being used.
It responses quickly, earlier in the evening, when there are a lot of viewers.
All other websites continue to respond as normal.

So, any idea what's up and what can be done to cure the problem?[/FONT]

I guess it happens while most are sleeping. Too many years of the graveyard shift turned me into a night owl.

Normally I get to bed around 2200-2300 local, so I don't care, but occasionally I'm still up around 0300 and notice it. Backups are quite a good reason though, I'll just live with it... it's a pretty strong hint I should go the hell to bed.

My issues usually start around 11:00 pm. Normally I just log off the computer and go to bed rather than let it frustrate me.

Glad someone asked this question as it has been bugging me too.

EDIT: got to thinking about this a little bit more. Curious if the time frame used for the server backup is the best? I mean, I can log on to throughout the day, but I am curious if there aren't more users logging in during the hours 5 p.m. Eastern through say 8 a.m. Pacific? Wouldn't make sense to do the server backups during the lowest times of useage--when the "normal" people are working? Just a random thought.

Also, why isn't it Atlantic/Pacific times instead of Eastern/Pacific, or Eastern/Western????

The backup time will not be changed, from what I understand.
