K suspension viper coil mod

I was thinking of putting on the K Suspension coil viper pack and getting rid of the rail system. Has anyone used this system and what do they think about it?

I put it on when I did my head earlier this year. It works and was easy to install. I like the idea that its easier to troubleshoot individual plugs vs the rail. Can't say I notice any sort of performance difference from it.

Just buy the harness and the bracket from them. From what I hear they will sell you a Spectra coil. I bought a Mopar one instead for mine. Part number 56032520AF. Also don't buy the wires. Last I heard theirs are from a Mopar mini van. The boots are straight at the coil side which make them stick out more. Any wires for a 4.0 will work. The boot will be 90 degrees at the coil and route better.

I just bought their harness as I couldn't use their mount (oil pump is there) and I used a Screamin Demon coil.

I have the parts to do it. I tried the K-suspension bracket. The AC hose is in the way. Also, I upgraded my battery cables. So, the positive cable is also in the way. I plan to do what RCP di and make a bracket to place the coil on the block. I plan latter to change my 2000 head to one from a '99. Looking to attach the coil to the Brown Dog motor mount brackets some how.

What's your logic in doing that? You can get a brand new TUPY head for the same price and not have to deal with the exhaust issues!

Logic...Jeep. ???
OK, I am also going with larger valves. 1.94 intake and 1.55 exhaust. I think you had yours ported by Russ. For my searches, the square port for the 2000+ heads, actually flows a bit better in the higher RMP. The D port on the earlier heads is suppose to be better at lower RMPs. I also plan to port the heads to some extent. Also, I want to use 37 or 30 degrees valve angle on the intake valves.

Yes, Russ did my head but he started with a TUPY 0331 head and added the LS valves, and took the exhaust ports out to 0630 specs that's why I have run the Revolver header.

I changed the cast iron manifolds to a 2000+ header. The primaries are about diameter 1.5. So, I should be good there. I plan latter to use a Doug Thorely header from the '98 I have. It is getting a Pace Setter, I picked up at Carlisle Jeep Fest.
I didn't get the results on the 2000 XJ, that I got on the '98. A bit perceived though. Still, I'll be changing more than one thing at that time. I also, will probably upgrade the cam.

There are other ways to mount the coil, between the bosses on the block and the head (excluding a 0331 head).
