i see so many ppl talk trash about the military over there, condemn war efforts and what not and now this! im amazed, so i sent him a thank you and now what? i dont feel i deserved that but man that was WAY COOL! fist time in a long time that some one said thanks.

I'm not sure what my service record, or lack thereof, has to do with anything, but since you took the time to ask, I'll take the time to answer....

In short:

They won't let me.

Even when I entertained the idea, it was to serve voluntarily. Yano, pay for my own weapon, uniform, transport, etc. Oh, yeah, and not leach off the rest of the country for benefits. No pay, no college tuition, no insurance. Yano, doin' it for patriotism, not for money.

Sadly, we have this nifty federal law that precludes, and makes it a federal felony, people convicted of certain misdemeanors. This will forever preclude me from serving as a peace officer, game warden, in the military, etc. etc. etc.

Now, why did you want to know?
