Has anyone ever taken part in the Jeep Jamboree in Wallace, Idaho? Or any Jamboree? I'm thinking of participating, but want to know if these are worth the money. Thats a lot of cash per person.

I did one that that is what got me hooked. I had fun. I did not know there was a JJ in Idaho though.

I believe we just missed the one in Wallace. I think its late August or early September; you have to sign up in advance. But if your in CDA, It would be great to see you there next year! I woudn't be the only JJ rookie. I mailed for info, so as soon as it arrives I'll post the actual dates.

Why not hop down to Moab the first week of October and join us for the big 20th anniversary of the XJ bash we're conducting. It's a lot less expensive than a Jeep Jamboree, and you'll be among "your own kind" rather than face constant harrassment from the short wheelbase crowd :D

Moab, hmm...it would be a good reason to go; I've never been there. You guys would be accepting of a mostly stock XJ, right? (I will be needing to drive it home too.) As for the JJ in Wallace; it was held in mid August. Maybe next year.

I've done the Idaho JJ a couple of times. It is very friendly, fantastic scenery, and pretty good food. It is one of the smaller ones, usually about 50 jeeps. There are only three trails to choose from, but each has several optional challenges.

JJ prices can get expensive, but the memory of the good times will last a lot longer than the pain of payment. By the way, if you want a Jamboree in the Northwest, try the Canadian one in Penticton, BC. Its bigger (100+ Jeeps, a dozen trails) and cheaper (about $200CDN). http://www.jeepjamboreecanada.com/

You can't really go wrong with either one, or do both next year.

I was a part of the Ozark Jambo a couple months ago. I was trail leader for one of the moderate groups.

I have gone and done all of the hard trails prior to the Jambo, building and trail matiance, ect.

If yah go to the Jambo it'll be a blas. I had fun leading the trails. It's the third for the ozarks and the first one I had helped out in.

if you are a beginer it's a great place to start out and get the basics.

I don't think i would actualy pay mayself to go to this Jambo, as I have run all the trails for this one for Half working days. But I might consider Attending a Jambo in 2 years. Going to Moab for Easter is my big trip next year.
