Maybe, if we let aircrews be properly armed, we could do away with this "Airport Security" crap (it's an illusion, really) and become civilised once again. I quit flying in 1991 because I didn't fit in the seats, and I now REFUSE to fly anywhere I can drive (unless I'm in a hurry for some reason) because, while I enjoy flying, I hate airports. I'm half tempted to walk through the airport in a jockstrap and sandals - so I won't be hiding anything. This is getting stupid.

yea but dude you could be hiding like... a pin inside those sandles. Those could give somone like a 1" wound! You will have to run them through the scanner... same with the strap...

That would make one hell of a protest if a few thousand business flyers did that but I bet it would not get put on the evening news...does not fit into the agenda of home security and the feds.

Oh, God, I hope so! I could handle getting PNG'd from Kalifornistan - I already feel like an expatriated American here.

California should be allowed to secede, and then split into four stated (Northern California, Southern California, LA, and San Francisco.)

I'd like to organise a protest like that - but it won't happen. People out here are addicted to fashion - and wouldn't be caught dead in a loincloth. Although, it would be fine with me - show up barefoot, in a loincloth, and tell them I'm dressed that way for "religous observations" or somesuch so they won't be able to bitch at me.

Then, when they want to search me, I just lift the loincloth. I had to go through half of that when I was trying to fly out for my granddad's funeral a few months ago (and don't get me started on "overbooking" - I paid $700 for the two of us to spend the night at SFO and not get anywhere. Am I missing something?) I told them, when they wanted to do a detail search on me, something along the lines of, "No, strip me naked right here in front of everyone."

The beginning of the end was when they held up GEN Joe Foss, USMC (ret) for carrying his MoH and some memorabilia. If I'd been on duty, I'd have carried his bags to the airplane - I don't know what these people are thinking. Or if they are thinking in the first place.

I'd like to go through in Class A's, with all my medals, one day just to see what they say. Sorry, but I've spent years actually hunting down people like they're supposed to be protecting us from (and probably failing miserably.) Sorry - but I don't wait for them to show up at home - I'll go out and kill them in their beds before they can get here. It's the only way to deal with terrorists...

Yes, there are. The training that has enabled me to preserve life has made my taking it more efficient...

There are quite a few ways to kill a person that don't require cuts at all - yet, they're still willing to let me on an airplate with my hands and feet free.
