I left Northern Va when I took a tempoary assignment in SoCal 2 years ago. Bought an XJ and fell in love with the rocks. Now I have to go back to Northern Va or find a new job and stay out here so I can wheel (yeah its that important).

So clue me in about how often you Virginians get together, go wheeling and what the trails are like back in ol' Virginny. I am willing to put up with the snooty DC lawyers and wonks in BMW's and Mercedes when I drive my XJ but only if there is decent wheeling to be found.

Ya theres alot of good wheeling in the west and in the Northern part of Va.. Best bet is to hook up with some locals when you get here and get the down low

I appreciate the responses. I spent a few hour reading the SE Chapter forum. Far better than what I first imagined. Looks like I will need to realibrate to mud and water. Lived in Kansas as a kid and found good wheeling there (Mud, Mud and more Mud). Lots of broken windshields from (the idiocy of youth) snapping chains used as tow straps.

Anyone have some favorite runs in the NoVa/WVa/Md border area?

John

Most of the DC ,Northern Va, crowd go to the George Washintion National forest .Most trails are in Rockingham Co,anr run into WVa. if you stay on them long enough. Some trails located near Charlottesville Va. all in the National Forest.
New private place near Crozet and Gore Va. are like Paragon and Roush Creek in Pa.
Check out NOVA jeepers ,they have runs most every month.
