quick question, i just recently installed my 2" polyspacer in front and i do not see anything wrong. I installed it with the FLAT side facing the tires not facing the engine. can anybody confirm if I installed it correctly or do i have to turn it around so that the FLAT side will face the engine. it's a rusty;s polyspacer. thanks!

Flat side towards engine is correct.

do i have to move it?

another question, does it matter if i did not remove the stock rubber thing on top of the spring before putting in the polyspacer?

I also plan on doing this. So the smaller "flanged ?" side isnt made to sit inside the top of the coil spring? Was wondering about that being a newb and all!

I have seen pics here w/stock rubber spacer in place.

I like the idea of using the stock bottle jack between the axle and frame to spread for installing spacers. (which was posted in the last day or so)

edited: Sorry, dont mean to hijack...just have same questions. Thanks.

The coil springs sit in the concave side of the spacer. The flat edge location of the spacer makes no difference on an XJ. And, no it really doesn't matter that you left the old coil pad in place. You take it out, you have 1/2" less lift, you leave it in, you have 1/2" more lift.

thank you guys, that saved me some work this weekend.

another question if you guys don't mind, i also installed the 1.5 rear shackles. i noticed that my leaf spring has been starightened out, no more arch at all, but ride quality is good. the leaf wasn't sagging at all before the shackles was installed. the height of the rear prior to the lift is 17 from the center of the wheel to the fender lip. it was installed 2 weeks ago. it was 18.5 at first and now its only 18. the fron is no proble. from 17.5 to 19.5 (beacuse i didnt remove the isolator) i don't wan to spend anymore money. but if really needed do i have to get a brand new OEM leaf pack or are there any 2" leaf pack (not AAL) that is cheaper than the Old Man EMU 2.5" leaf packs that is $177 each. the reason why I considered lifting is becasue it is a budget lift. hope to hear inputs from you guys.

Longer shackles will droop the rear leafs. That's the problem with them. You'll need to replace the leaf pack, make a bastard pack, do an aal, whatever you choose. It will droop more the longer they are on there.

thanks, one last question re: polyspacer - does it matter if the stock insulator sits on top of the polyspacer? ive seen pictures and most of them has the stock insulator sits below the polyspacer. thanks!

doesn't really matter, I keep mine ontop of the spacer

I don't see how longer shackles would make springs sag; they just move springs further from the frame.

They do, mostly stock springs though.

I've had my 2" shackles in for a couple years now and they don't. I have an AAL also and 2" added Bumpstops if that made the difference. No sagging though. The springs sit flat, but that is how they are designed to sit. I have very good flex also. I had a short AAL at one point that wiped out a leaf pack. Leaf packs are a very easy thing to experiment with and find what works best.
Mine actually consist of 2" drop shackles,2.5" aal, 1" shim/block. I sit at 5.5" and have a great pinion angle and no SYE. I have a little to much yoke sticking out , but when I get my 44 in a few weeks it will slip back in about another 1/2"
This is the older 88 model though. They can get away with this where the newer models can't. Why ? I'm not real sure I'm not real famliar with the newer models. Maybe the Chrysler 8.25 is the problem.
