How do you remove a 1990 XJ power antenna?

I need to remove my power antenna but do not know where to begin. What all has to come off in order to get to the whole unit? I need to pull it out and either fix it or replace it with a new one.

Nevermind, I went out and figured it out.

Just throw it out and get a mast to replace it. No more listening to that stupid motor and wondering which will break it off first....a carwash or a tree limb. Just my opinion.

I am big on having every option my Cherokee came with working. It is fully loaded and every option works except the power antenna (I love power antennas). It only stopped working after it sat under water for 7 hours lol. Total fluid change, new starter and a rear main seal and she is perfect again.
