how do I join

Hi, Nick --

Joining the NAC is easy ... just send me your bank account number and password ...

Well, if you don't choose to do that, you're on the right track. NAC is a chapter of NAXJA, so you must join NAXJA. I believe somewhere on the NAXJA site there's a place to fill out the application, and you can send in the dues by PayPal, I think.

As of now, there are no additional dues to belong to the NAC, and we hope to be able to continue that. Once you join NAXJA, you just let us know you're here and want to be considered a member. If you can join us at one of our activities, that's even better.

Thank you for the info Eagle. I've been using NAXJA like I do NPR for a couple years now under different screen names, I would forget one and just add a new one, and decided that it is deffinitely time to contribute my financial support to the group as well.

Cheers,
Nick

Boston isn't taht far from Maine. Maybe you can join us at Bass Harbor at the end of October -- I'm hoping to entice (or shame) as many folks in the chapter area as possible to show up.

How can you beat it? Mount Desert Island has to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Combine that with Cherokees and free camping ... what's not to like? :)

Eagle, is desert island by freeport? I went to college up in Maine and love it up there, but I'm not sure if my rig can run with you guys. Its basically stock suspension at this point with exception of bilsteins and baja belted tires. I ordered an OME setup from RJ at AV4x4, but haven't heard from him. This doesn't even begin to touch on the problems I'm going to have with the install thanks to two seized bolts that hold the springs front eyes. Argh......

Keep me posted and I'll try to get up there. I've been trying to do a trail run and learn some skills. most of the wheeling I've done is in the deep sand at the beach.

Mount Desert Island is about 3 hours beyond Freeport. Think Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Bass Harbor is over on the "quiet side" of the island, away from Bar Harbor (although Bar Harbor isn't such a zoo at this time of year).

I'm also at stock height. This isn't really a "wheeling" weekend, although we are still hoping to identify some mild to moderate level trails in the area. This is more of a camping, eating, and talking weekend get-together.

hey nick.. welcome aboard to a new member.. why dont you come out to the columbus day trail run on columbus day weekend??? i'm sure you've read the post.. there are some excellent trails for all types of rig..

No statement of yes or no for either trip. A definite probable for the Mowhawk Trail run though as I might be out that way in Adams, MA working on my families house with my girlfriend; its amazing how much damage 15,000 gallons of water can do to a house in the middle of the winter =(

I sent my check in the day that I originally posted this thread so I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens from here, but I certainly want to be a member of the NAC. It is great to know that you folks allow the more 'yellow' foruwheelers to learn from you. I hope to learn a lot anbout the great places that dot New England as well as the cababilities of myself and my XJ.

I read Eagles post about the NAC website. Could I have an url to check it out or is what I'm typing on the NAC website?

This is the chapter forum. The chapter home page is at

http://www.naxjanac.org/

There is a link to it at the top of the chapter forum index page.

15000 gallons of water huh?? hope it was leaky pipes and not a river flowing thru the house.. good luck with the cleanup/renovations....
