Since the rain & floods near Deckers and Westcreek, I haven't heard anything from members about this report. Does anyone know first hand, or second hand for that matter, when they expect to reopen the road? I have made the trip from Sedalia to Woodland Park a few times, on 67(first time was after the Hayman Fire), and I had hoped to complete the next leg from Woodland Park to Cripple Creek this year. Anyone privy to CDOT timelines for re-opening, or live in the area and describe first hand the damage the flooding did?

BTW...I monitored the response and rescue efforts by North Fork Fire, & the other Fire Departments, Law Enforcement and CDOT on my scanner the night of the storm. It was hairy at times, but those guys(and gals) did a bang up job to responding with a miniumum amount of warning, and getting the word out to residents and campers alike. Their efforts are to be applauded, even if they barely got a mention on the news. The pictures, I heard, in the paper and on TV, did not do the devastation justice. My hats off to the Public Safety people in Jeffco and Douglas Counties for their magnificent efforts!
