I have a '96 XJ and I'm turning it into a bit of a portable generator. I have an AGM battery and 165 amp alternator, now all I need is a big power inverter.
Anyway, I know there's a way to add a high idle switch via the ECM...but I really don't want to cut any of my computer's wires and cross them.
On the other hand, my intake manifold has a empty vacuum nipple on the front with a rubber cover. If I remove the rubber cover, idle increases to about 1100 RPM just like with a high idle switch. Is it ok to raise the idle like this? Am I going to hurt anything? Will it run lean that way?
