HID vs Halogen Comparison Pics

Pulled one of the HIDs bulbs out because it was starting to go out, swapped in a halogen. HID is an 8k bulb. Halogen is a Sylvania H4. Both are in Hella E code housings. Stock wiring. All taken with a cell phone.

Some background info: all of these were taken around dusk to try to show the beam cut off. This being a crappy cellphone pic, its a little hard to tell. To me, the halogen had a far better cut off as expected. The HID threw light up a little farther in the frame with a not so good cut off.. The obvious advantage being the HID appears 3x brighter to my self.

Put a headlight harness in and see the halogen get brighter.

Planning on re doing my whole light setup. Urban Yan posted a good budget HID setup thats a lot better than my current situation. So eventually I will post up a thread about that.

Well i am using the ballasts...so if you want a semi burnt out 8k and one working one, we might be able to make a deal haha
