Hi, My name's Chris, I live in the Littleton area. About 2 weeks ago I traded in my 2007 Nissan Xterra

and bought a 1998 XJ with 120,000 miles on it

I've wheeled a ton in the Xterra and have plans to keep it up with the XJ once funds are there. It's pretty much stock right now with the exception for the BFG AT's I put on it right away.

I've seen so many amazing trucks here I can not wait to learn more about the XJ world.

That Xterra eliminator kit was a smart purchase!

Your choice in color sucks though..... :D

I'm in Littleton too - Dry Creek and Broadway area.

That's a clean little XJ! Maybe you can meet up with all of us at the meet and greet:

I personally LOOOOVE Xterra's. Wouldn't mind building myself one. I do love my jeep though.

Welcome!

How'd you like the 07 O.R.? My lady has an 06 S and it's a pretty stout truck.

Welcome to the site

Welcome! I too am in the littleton area. Wads and coalmine. Good deal on trading to the xj. Make it to the m&g it'll be a blast!

It's an auto nice work Kittrell. I ski a lot (115 days so far this season) and I know there's a really good chance I'll break something at some point. That said manual wasn't an option. Also I like it for wheeling, one less thing to think about.

I liked the X a lot but I had too much money tied up in it and I was getting worried about the weak front diff. I was at a point where I wouldn't be upside down so I opted for a cash purchase over 3 years and 11K of additional payments.

M&G is definitely a possibility.

The XJ's pretty clean, there are a few rust areas I want to address though. There was also a small leak at the trans pan so that was fixed last weekend and it's holding up great.

Thank god you replaced the Xterra with Jeep.
No offense, but my buddy and I were at Chipotle a while back and started laughing at it when we saw the "off road" on the door.

Have you wheeled with one? My buddy has a 4-dr Nismo pickup, and while it lifts front wheels right and left with the IFS, it goes about anywhere I can, thanks to a factory rear e-locker and low factory gearing. Plush too, not a bad rig (really similar to an X)

Welcome to the club !! That was a good move , I had a Nissan Armada with
the gunmetal off-road package , all the bells and what not , even with the mammoth rear end huge brakes and oversized V8 with the drinking problem
I was left to make a decision about paying the 700 $ car payment for four years , not to mention if you actually break the dammed thing ...$$$$$$$

I decided to put money in a older PRACTICAL vehicle thats paid for , the release from the stress and headache make it a good deal itself .

I said "ABOUT" everywhere -- jeesh. Plus, he's about to trade it for a JK, so he's at least joining the jeep fold!

Ya I won't knock an xterra. Better built than any of your rigs mason. .!.:D.!.

Its built by a fawkin factory with the goal of selling a lot of them to a lot of people. No shit it's put together better than a homebuilt crawler. But I'd sure enjoy watching an Xterra like that one try to go through Chinaman's and get all the way though, let alone do it without breaking something or rackin up some nasty trail scars.
Are they nice vehicles? Hell yeah they are. But putting "Off Road" on the side of the door (in chrome letters, might I add) makes it just as gay as covering an Integra with racing stickers and not doing anything to it other than a huge tailpipe and an eBay hood scoop.

I'm just messin with ya mason, put your purse down.

But fwiw, I've personally seen at least 4 xterras on chinamans( and ateast 2 of them were not heavily modified) and they weren't having any issues.

Don't knock it til you try it
