Hey JohnJohn........

Huh?

"body and glass are good- body primered and ready to paint. interior is all torn out, needs rear seat, door panels, etc. Rusty pan panels were replaced, as were flexible brake lines...."

Sounds like a solid project to me - especially considering how rare these are.

I just know that JJ has a Super Beetle rotting away in his garage that could supply the engine and other essentials......

Besides...... How cool would a Ghia like this be?
(Yeah, I know, JohnJohn isn't that cool.......)

If you bolt in one of these, You won't have to buy a back seat...Oops, my bad! It's not an LS1.

The Karmann Ghias were cute lil' cars back in the day.

Ah yes, the infamous 427 powered Pantera. Too bad they're Ford powered.

Who else woulda known that from the picture?

But hey...... an LS1 mated to a '60's era Toronado trans axle would be kinda cool........

he already has a ghia

No kidding Sherlock..... he forced that down our throats already...... :laugh3:

Figured he'd like a hard top to go with that convertible. And Ghias are cooler than Super Beetles. Not by much, but if ya gotta cruise around in a go-cart with a funny shaped body on it, it should be a Ghia.

:D

Like I said; "rebuild from the the lug nuts up" everything needs to be touched, JohnJohn appears to be SO busy he doesn't have time for another project, let alone stopping by and posting in a thread calling him out. :D

Lessee......... drive wheels in the right place, check. Engine in the right end, check. What's not to like? Oh, and can't forget the STICK SHIFT!!!!!

During my last days at Pfizzer/Pharmacia outside of Chicago a few years back, one of the women down in the InfoLibrary had a Karmann Ghia fully restored. Complete disassembly, repair, paint, overhaul, lots of $$$. I never saw it in person, but she showed me pictures of this gorgeous medium blue car. I've regretted not seeing it in person.

BWAHAAAA. Come on this is JJ we're talkin bout. wheres the lawn chair.

FU guys :D I just haven't had anything to work on the last few years. Yes when I'm at your homes...I watch...like most of you do at my place, if you even come. It's understood.

I pulled that Ghia motor in about 2 hours. From lifting the hood to on the floor. Everything is labeled and sorted. Waiting on parts, then paint and it goes back in. I will post the plans to put it back together so you guys can get your fricking cameras ready.

I'm glad I can still easily amaze all of you after so many years. :spin1:

Inquiring minds wanna know...... What's ailing the little VW? Why all the hubub... bub?
