So the jeep gets up to temp just fine, but hasn’t been blowing hot or even warm at that point. So I’ve ran some cleaner through the system a few times and gotten all kinds of build up and nasty stuff out of it. Well it still wasn’t blowing that great. I noticed the hoses going to and from the water pump and back well the upper one was HOT but the lower one was still cool like I can hold onto it with out it burning or even luke warm. Well I took them off last night and with a pipe cleaner I scrubbed out the lines and O BOY that bottom one was nasty dirty. REALLY bad spent 20 min just cleaning that one a lone the upper one not so bad. I wish I took pics of this but no digi camera. That’s coming for X-mas this year. I tride to run water through the line but was making a mess and wasn’t getting much water through the lines. No good way to really get a good seal on it. I got to digging around the pit that is my garage and found an old water pump that I got from my old man years ago to drain the old water bed I had at the time. (thank got that thing is gone) So I took a trip to the old home depot (hate that place) and found some plastic fittings and some clear hot water hose. I got home and rigged up the lines to fix to the ones on the jeep then attached one end to the lower part of the heater core hose. I put some of that preston flushing/clean stuff in the top end and hooked up the line. I turned on that puppy and let it run. Gave it a few seconds to make sure it was working and BINGO we have a winner. NO leaks and that thing just ran and ran. With the clear tubing I could see all the nasty stuff that was clogging the heater core. I let it run for like 10 min and would drain that water and add hot hot hot freash water with just a bit of that cleaner stuff then let run again for 10 to 15 min. I did that three times to get the big nasty stuff out of the system plus I changed the direction of the flow to make sure I wasn’t just packing that stuff in. After that I let it run with hot water and cleaner for a good 30 min at a shot. Broke out the last bottle of skinny dip for the summer. ( stocked up on that stuff before it was out this summer ) After enjoying the last sip of summer flavor for the year. I just ran some clear hose down to a bucket and with the hose from the washroom ran hot water through it and O man talk about crud that came out. I ran it tell it was clear. Hooked it all back up again checked the levels at the cap and over flow jug and cranked up the jeep. HOT BABY HOT! The jeep is blowing HOT air again. I’m pretty sure I got like 80 to 90% of all the junk that was built up in the lines radiator and the heater core. Odds are I might need to do this again in a week or so just to make sure it’s running clean, but Now I have a much cleaner easier way of going about it. That and for flushing the system totally. Just need a few buckets to catch all the water but that little pump was worth it’s weight in gold.
