This is on a '99, with a 1" spacer on the hinge, not sure if that matters
Length of time required: ~1/2 beer
Tools/parts required - drill, nut driver, 13mm wrenches, 2 self tapping screws, 1 new nut
Position the base at the back of the flat section. Fasten with self tappers
Put hood up to the desired position, with the strut extended locate where the post needs to go through the hood.
Drill the hole, bolt it through, snap the strut back onto the stud.
I went the extra step of cutting off the extra threads sticking through. Turns out I'm out of dark red rustoleum, I'll paint it when I get more
Sit back, relax, and enjoy not having to hassle with the hood prop every time you open it!
