Actually, I didn’t kill my turkey this year in the sense that I wasn’t the guy wielding the axe. But I gutted and plucked about half the birds we processed on a small farm near where I live. So I was an active participant in the whole process. It’s gruesome, but I like eating meat and have no delusions about the nature of the work that goes into getting to the table.
I’ve also killed turkeys in the wild, and will do so again.
