BTW, Just got back from Pomeroy/Hancock/Baldwin Lakes. Weather was great, wheelin' was great, fishin' was okay. Tincup is still closed due to snow.

Indeed! Happy Independance Day!
I'm winding down toward the end of my shift now...... got our arses handed to us with fireworks complaints! I think damn near every other household made the trip to Wyoming for the good stuff! I still have the smell of black powder and phosphorous stuck in my sinuses. Not a lot of drunks, people were happy and nice..... hell, only one DUI, a small bottle rocket induced brush fire, and a couple of fights for the night. All in all, a good day at the office! (Normally we'd have taken 10 drunks to detox, processed 5 or more DUI's, countless fights, and a handfull of fires.)
It was kinda cool driving to work though. I parked for about 5 minutes along C-470 looking over south Jeffco. Simply amazing the amount of fireworks going off everywhere. Great professional displays going on in Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Bandimere Speedway..... awesome.
Ya know, personally, I'd like to see most kinds of fireworks made legal again. At least in the suburban areas. It just ain't Independance Day without all the fireworks.

Happy 4th to all of you guys over there. Had our own little show here. At 23:00 last night all of our camps in Ramadi shot off flares and 80mm illum rounds. It was quite a sight. I am sure there was more than one insurgent out there crapping his pants, trying to figure out what was going on. A lot of the guys got some good pics and even some video of the whole thing. It was pretty cool stuff, probably a once in a life time kind of thing.
