guess what i saw today!

autozone is selling lower shackles that fit ford rangers they honestly looked good for maybe 2.5" of lift. i thought that was cool and i even took a picture. mainly to prove that there real and only $30 but well my phone is stupid and cant seem to ever connect to my computer

those might not be strong enough since they are designed to be flipped the opposite way of what xj shackles are. Some people have tried doing what you are talking about with chevy shackles which are the same way and have had them fold up or break.

Hmm My chev lowering shackles (belltech) I put on my street xj are just as beefy as my trail rig.

i have had the chevy lowering ones on mine for 4 years and have had zero problems.

aren't those chevy lowering shackles for 2.75" springs? i was looking at those a few weeks back, but they didn't measure out 2.50". i ended up ordering some shackles from rough country. btw, the rough country shackles were great. jeep rides noticably smoother, installed them in about an hour.
