Great Insurance pics!

Darn, back when I was stationed at the sub base in groton the insurance agent out the front gate had one of a car cut in two pieces, by a submarine. Old WWII fleet boat with the net cutter bow jumped the old low pier comin in to dock and cut the CO's car in half. Happend back in the early 50's, would have made a nice addtion to yours...

awesome instant chop job on that van, at first i thought it was an XJ hatch, I would have cried :viking:

BTW, never seen a dump truck flexing!

Looks like another propeller plane sideswiped it.

I considered that, and that's still the best I can come up with, but check out the damage to the wing and top of the engine nacelle. That must have been something to see if indeed that's what happened. I hope it was parked and not taxiing at the time!

Can you imagine what the pilot was thinking if he was in there watching an oversized deli slicer bearing down?

i thought about that too, but considering the cuts are so thin... the pitch of the propellers are much wider than the cut suggests. :dunce:

On most prop planes, the propeller is a constant-speed design where the pitch of the blades is variable. In a low-thrust situation like taxiing, they would have very little pitch to them.
That MUST be what happened, but daaaamn!

Anybody else notice the guy still in the dangling truck?

The prop idea is also infeasible because the cuts are completely vertical and spaced out considerably so any plane would have had to be moving at high speed for them to be that far apart, which would have caused considerably more damage to the wing. However I have no better explanation as to what it may have been

Believe me when I say another plane hit that one. I have a friend who works as an avaiation mechanic and he said hes seen it happen before, I couldn't believe it either at first.

My guess is.....D.E.A. + sawzall = one Fawked up plane..........

Props actually turn more slowly than you'd think. It's necessary to keep the tips of the blades from traveling at supersonic speeds where they are subject to considerable additonal stress and lose a great deal of their aerodynamic efficiency.
I also want to know what country this is in. The tail number is not a US registration. Anybody recognize it?
