it was a good rematch-- luck and timing had as much to do with the result as did skill.
we'll have to do it again in another 9 years-- but looking at the age of your red-birds, I won't vouch for a similar outcome next time!

Sox just wanted it more. Cards stranded WAY too many on base in #6. I'm just glad it wasn't a sweep like is was the last time.
They have the pitchers (young and older) and enough hitters but for the last decade (or more) they've been too methodical. They have 'explosiveness' at times but not against a team like Boston was this year. When I see guys like Matt Adams and Shane Robinson I know the Cardinals will at least be a playoff team for years to come.
Napoli got his wish after the Cards comeback in 2011 to take the Rangers to 7 and then win.
I have to say though...Cardinals have recently produced 2 history making World Series win or lose!
They have the pitchers (young and older) and enough hitters but for the last decade (or more) they've been too methodical.
